This was Russia, but not Soviet Russia. Communism has been invented about 30-40 years later.

Well they did, but they did not really have another choice because Hitler attacked them first. And I am pretty sure the Americans and British would have been able to do this on their own if necessary.

He saved America from the nuclear missiles of COMMUNIST Russia, and not because but although he was a communist (and maybe he wasn't, I don't know). Also, he did not sacrifice himself. He risked his life (at least he thought so) but was not killed.

The US and Britain had NO CHANCE against the Nazis were it not for the Russians. The Russian war effort was the ONLY reason that Hitler couldn't put forth the resources necessary to stop D-Day and El Alamein. And even without the Americans and Brits, the Russians would have been able to keep the German army in the middle of the Russian winter long enough to totally mess them up. Russia won World War II, and they did it with the communist ideals and logic (The Needs of the Many outweigh the needs of the Few)
