the doom3 intro music is uncannily similar to the tool song 'lateralus', pretty much steals the riff from it

One of Tools members wrote the theme. Fail.

no, they didnt, its a common misconception brought on BECAUSE the theme sounds so similar. In the manual it clearly states: Theme for D3 produced by: Chris Vrenna (DRUMMER for NiN) Theme for D3 composed by: Clint Walsh (GUITARIST for Jack Off Jill)

Looks like it's on par with everything Doom 1 and 2 ripped off. Damn you, Bobby Prince!

iD's always stealing songs, but they just seem to make them better each time...

Lateralus is easily the worst song of TOOLs to rip off of youre going to make it for a f*cking DOOM GAME. For f*cks sake, thats one of the most positive and upbeat songs TOOL has ever made!

F for Fail. Tool helped with the theme tune

Nine Inch Nails and Tool work together all the time, A Perfect Circle, Tapeworm anyone? APC-- Howerdel- NIN's guitar tech; Freese- occassional tour drummer with NIN; Jeordie White- NIN's bassist, NIN also championed Marilyn Manson, which he was in; Danny Lohner- this former member of NIN and Tapeworm works as an engineer for A Perfect Circle, was in Puscifer with Maynard. The other members were closely involved with the Smashing Pumpkins.

I'm not finished though. Tweaker, Vrenna's band includes: King Buzzo, who constantly tours with Tool and works Adam Jones for an additional guitar on tour and appears on Salival. There's tons of 2-degree relationships too.

um dude, the tool song sounds a hell of a lot different, different drums and riffs. Just because its similar doesnt mean its copied.
