carol of the bells

seasons greetings pals
As I sit here just finishing my christmas eve dinner of spare ribs and chow mein, I felt the need to give you all a little update of what's been going on at YTMND headquarters.
It's been a long year, and I don't think I've accomplished as much as I would have liked. I hope to change that this year. The last few months have consumed me in a duty I am not only not very good at, but something that causes me to die a little each time I have to deal with it: advertising.
As the site grows in size and cost, advertising becomes more and more of a requirement in order to keep enough money coming in to pay the bills. I've been trying to manage this all on my own and honestly not doing very well, I should stick to programming.
Luckily, I signed up with Federated Media who will be representing all of YTMND's ad space. This means in the coming months as I slowly leave more and more up to them, I can get back to coding. I know the site is riddled with bugs, broken features and horrible abusive users.
I aim to change that, and my first order of business is to launch a new moderation setup which includes a couple hundred new moderaters. I will go into this more in a future post, so if you send me a private message asking me to be a moderator, I'm going to delete you.
Anyway, that's all I have to say for the time being. Stay safe this xmas/new years. I'll be back in the new year to make a fresh start of YTMND.

Hey conspiracy buffs, what if max himself viiewhacked the HTPAT site in order to get more ad revenue? Or was the one who emailed it throughout the tubes? And now that he has a new business dealie he stopped bothering, hence why the views have gone way down? This came to me in a dream, after I ate my Christmas dinner of chili dogs and chips.
Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, and Happy Kwanza to everyone. I suggest we could have a modarator suggestion booth and put down users that we think should be the best canidates to be moderators, like for example people who look out for users that use alt accounts just to make it to the up and coming.
The wtf utility displays the expansion of the acronyms specified on the command line. If the acronym is not in any of the acronyms databases, wtf will check to see if the acronym is known by the whatis(1) or the pkg_info(1) commands. If ``is'' is specified on the command line, it will be ignored, allowing the fairly natural ``wtf is WTF'' usage.

"Man as I work this new years eve
I sure wish I had a YTMND shirt to keep me warm..." so do the rest of us. max hurry up please we want our damn shirts already, my self esteem has been hovering around normal which is far too high so i need a ytmnd shirt so i can get the sh*t beat outa me already! geez!
Max! I have a Plea to be careful on your choosing of mods...What if some one says, hey, lets delete nutnics, and there are some wackos out there that think, "yeah, lol, lets delete nutnics"... :( I can think of 20 ppl on here at most that are responsable and respectable, but a couple hundred, oh boy. WERE DOOMD
i dont think like 100 people should be mod. its a bit too many and kinda risky if one of em gives out his password. you just need like 20-40 decent and solid members who are mature and can take things seriously but still have a sense of humor and know what is good for the site. also people who spend most of their time here.
Oh man, I went on a motherf*cking c*ckroach killing spree. There's this spot in the cabinet which has a broken piece sticking out so I thought of bug spraying it. When I did, like 20 of these c*ckroaches came out so I blasted those f*ckers nonstop. I had to spray each one for 15 seconds because it was a cheapass Ralph's brand of spray. I think I'm gonna die from the fumes.
According to the USPS's Domestic Mail Manual, Registered Mail is "the most secure service that the USPS offers" and is used to send (often in combination with insurance) high-value items such as jewelry or coins, sensitive or irreplaceable paperwork, and DoD classified information up to the SECRET level. Items sent via Registered mail are tracked via a system of receipts as they move through the mail system, and they can be tracked electronically by the sender via phone or through the USPS's web site.
2007, the year of the YTMND.com clean up and abusive user round up. Srsly, you guys, this is the best place on the internet. I watched 20/20 last night and they were gushing over YouTube and Perezhilton.com and saying how they are the new internet, but we have the ingredients that trump all other sites when it comes to humor, satire, and user creativity. Alas, right now we are overrun by a host of abusive users, disgusting sites, spamming idiots that shame us. BRING ON THE MODS!
Yeah the downvoting here is getting stupid. You can't make any YTMND anymore unless it has a 1 and a comment like "That's not Biggs" or Jack Nichealson's Shining comment. These downvoters are just a bunch of sexymofo wannebes. Sexymofo was just a really tough critic, cause at least he said "please try again" and the smiling emoticon ^_^. Guess he is just using his ptkfgs account for now from the last time I checked.
gr33nscr33n, you know what - it used to be that it was the spammers like JoshCube that would raise the most ire, but really in the end, compared to whats going on now, he's relatively harmless. the NARDs as you call them, usually dont hit sites that will be downvoted anyways - any moderately decent, and i mean like a 3.0 worthy site or more, has become their usual target. EVERY user is facing a handicap right now. The reason these guys keep tagging is because they know it takes forever before anyone even bothers with them. Sexymofo was never even dealt with which I'm sure empowered them. They continue it because they get away with it. Only a few mods should have deletion powers, and there should probably be a majority concensus vote among those mods. It could be abused if too many mods could delete users, however in the end at the stage we're currently in this can only help YTMND more than it would hurt.
Shadow, if you think mofo was 'just a tough critic', you're kidding yoruself, just because these gimmicks have 5'd in the past or occasionally 5 now doesnt mean they're actually honest the rest of the time. it just means they decided to be an actual YTMNDer for 5 seconds, or saw an opportunity to advance their gimmick, as sexymofo did by 5'ing only Aphex Twin sites.
sexymofo is nothing compared to these new downvoters. He had only 3,000 votes over the course of several months and rarely voted on recently created sites. the only reason people think he was a big downvoter was because he was the first to leave comments in a style like that. you don't see people talking about punisher, kwsn, or minder because they never leave comments
