A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics

After I received a tsunami of hate from updating the new layout, I went deep into a downward spiral of depression. I haven't bathed in over a week and I've been drinking 2 pots of coffee a day so I could work feverishly to get this new feature done.
I'd like to announce the first paid feature, even if it's going to be free for a couple months. It's a huge strain on the db server, but I personally think it's worth it.
Customizable front page
New option to automatically collapse the news preview after three views.
(sort of) New option to automatically open sites clicked anywhere on ytmnd in a new window.
Link at the bottom of the front page to customize your YTMND homepage.
The ability to create and choose from multiple templates.
Anyway, check it out. ALSO, the famous Razor Gator is doing a promotion where you can buy 2 Razor Gators for $2 and $1 of the proceeds goes to YTMND! So if you were curious about how well they work, now is a good time to find out!

TO THOSE WHO WANT SORTED SEARCHING: Use the quick search from any page BUT the home page. For example, type your search into the quicksearch at the top of this page, and it'll be just like the old search. Also, doing further searches from within a search results page (with or without sorting) will produce a sortable result.
That does sound like a great idea, although I think the design is pretty and all.. My only real issue with it is that it seems to lag.
A lot.
Like, more than ever. Then again, the old layout was beginning to grow on me. Oh well, give it your best shot, dude. ;)
I'd personally like to see what you're capable of.
"I haven't bathed in over a week and I've been drinking 2 pots of coffee a day so I could work feverishly to get this new feature done." Max, the new feature is great, but you should have done it the way you did the PM system: lock syncan in your basement with a bottle or two of Grey Goose, then kick back and relax. Now go take a shower and try to wean yourself off of cafeine. Do it slowly, I don't want you going into withdrawal or anything.
I'm very disappointed in what has become of ytmnd. This new layout makes the user feel very disjointed and alienated with the whole ytmnd community. Before, it was very easy to look at the page and immediately see new content, the classics and spreading of a new fad. Now when I look at the page, it's a chore to try and find anything. The search feature is a hassle b/c limiting by date doesn't work, and now i'm getting a hodgepodge of new and extremely old pages.
Doesn't anyone remember when the site would be unavailable for a couple minutes every hour so the site list could be updated? Doesn't anyone remember when you could only comment once every 60 seconds instead of 30? Remember when you would type too much and your comment would be cut off? Don't worry about the layout, don't worry about the colour. The vast majority of changes to the site have been improvements. YTMND is so much better than it used to be. Thank you max.
