ring of fire

hey pals,
you may have noticed ytmnd has been flapping a lot in the last few days. it seems someone has been ddosing us. my isp has been great about filtering it, but it's still going on.
in other news, i'm rolling out some neat stuff very soon, and the designer promised to have the new ytmnd design on Wednesday.
if you have some network know-how, please read more!
I've taken a 2 minute snapshot of what's remaining of the DDOS, and I put the log up here. If you consider yourself cybersleuths, infiltrate this drone net and figure out where it's hosted/who's running it. god knows the fbi would take months.
If anyone knows anything about the source of the ddos, please send me an email or private message. thanks buddies.

Find YTMNDs "enemies" (suspects; which there could be quite a few seeing as YTMND may or may not have pissed off a whole lot of people/or someone "impersonated" YTMND member(s) on the internet. Then narrow them down by people who would have a good motive and the resources to perform such a DDoS from various locations across the globe and would want to cover/hide themselves. Then take the evidence found (the IPs etc.) and build a case. Simple as that. Except it isn't really simple. Also please take down the IP tracker.
changes: top viewed (old top 15) now show 6 randomly from the top 35 viewed, changes once per minute. top voted on shows the sites with the most 5s today (not the last 24 hours, today). this is dupe checked against the up and coming so it may be empty after midnight. u&c changed back to 400 votes ceiling.
"now show 6 randomly from the top 35 viewed, changes once per minute." that's kind of... stupid? Just scrap the top viewed entirely. It is hardly an indicator of good sites as earlier today proved. Make it a "Top YTMNDs Created Today" so one doesnt need to check the up and coming every few hours for a good site. There are many decent sites of late that don't get any attention after their brief stint in the Up and Coming.
The thing is, a lot of these ddos attacks aren't actually done by people who even know they are doing it. Most ddos attacks are the result of virus/worm propogation and are created through unpatched servers, most running IIE or windoze xp, and then used to proxy the attack. That is the heart of any ddos attack. My workplace deals with spammers quite often who have huge bot nets, and when one gets blocked they simply rotate the old one out and rotate a new set of bots in.
