There's an alternate ending where a unicorn bursts out of Anton's chest and eats the kids. Tommy Lee Jones shows up in his truck and smiles through the windshield as the unicorn soars away on a bike into the sun while inspirational Disney music plays. Morgan Freeman narrates, "And so it came to pass that Anton had finally found what he was looking for all along, and as he flew into the great unknown with a full belly and grace, the galaxy he fought for was now at peace."
