Scott Evil is quite astute about his dad trying to kill him

Back in the first Austin Powers movie, Scott believed that Dr. Evil was trying to kill him (this was also confirmed by Dr. Evil himself). But in a deleted scene in Goldmember, you see a "family photo" where this idea may still be true..
