Why do they film lazytown in iceland?

It's probably cheaper than filming in the United States. A lot of film companies will shoot in Canada because it costs less... I've never heard of doing it in Iceland, though, unless there was a specific reason for it.
But usually if you're shooting in a weird place (like Canada) there's a monetary reason for it.
they film in iceland because Magnus Scheving the creator and one of the main characters from the show (Sportacus) is from there. Stefan Karl (Robbie Rotten) is also from iceland. if you ever watched the show you'd notice they both have funny accents. it started out as a play over there, and it became a big franchise which did really well. so they made an english version and brought it here... and there's more than you ever wanted to know about LazyTown.
