Just to explain. Microsoft really botched Vista badly. Stay with XP if you can. I hate how all the PC makers are cramming Vista over XP when nothing works on Vista. I may be installing Linux just for drivers. How screwed up is that? Some people are reporting that Wine (The Windows emulation that runs almost nothing) runs more apps than Vista.

actually it runs a lot of programs, and it's also going to support directx10 games, which windows xp will not.

I have Vista. Runs all my apps and never crashes. Only complaint I have is it's not HD capable yet.

i dont have any problem personally with vista actually. I just find it entertaining that it reports back to microsoft saying it doesnt work. Surely but slowly its getting better.
