Saddam was not all that bad of a guy actually. He was very moderate compared to the rest of the Middle East. Using our "he was a bad guy" logic, we should be toppling most of the worlds leaders and stringing them up. He kept the country together with an iron fist; so what? Look what it is now. Who are we to tell the Iraqis that they are "better off" when 90% of them say they felt safer when Saddam was in power.

Another thought: Saddam was hanged for the supposed deaths of 148 Kurds (not his own citizens, but Kurdish folk), which he carried out using weapons he likely got from US. Now, we've invaded Iraq, and killed aprx 655,000 Iraqi civilians. Which is the worse crime - ordering the killings a group of people who were attempting to assassinate and overthrow you, or ordering a ridiculous war which results in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives?
