Excuse me? You're blaming this on A-Rod? The root of the Yankees' problems are the lack of sufficient starting pitching. For example, using a 40+ year old man with back problems repeatedly expecting him to do well when he fails miserably every time. And Jaret Wright, who typically pitches 5 innings a start. Why do you think we got Lidle in the first place? All we need is a dominant pitching staff like in the dynastic 90's and we'll be fine again; just look at the '98 (114-game winning) team...(cont)
...no power hitters. Now, the Yankees focus on getting all the big name superstars instead of what matters most; talent. And I'm disgusted by it. No, getting rid of A-Rod will not improve the team. It can improve spirits in the clubhouse, but not the team overall. That and...look at (well most of them) the rest of the team in the ALDS...they were right there with mister "clutch"..he just gets more of the blame. If Jorge Posada did horrible in the post-season, he wouldn't be treated poorly or blamed...
...because he, unlike Mr. Rodriguez, has earned respect. And A-Rod should never get the chance because just getting rid of him from the team will make the fans a lot happier. Get rid of him as trade bait for young pitching and end it all. Get rid of the superstar complex. Who cares about money..Lidle was known to be selfish in that he didn't want to leave a game because he wanted to win for the team. He's just competitive..no harm done. But he has been known to say questionable things...either way I wish he
could've stayed with the team for longer but...it's too late now...he's with Munson now..and..about that A-Rod murderer comment, if the Yankees had won the 2001 World Series, Enrique Wilson would've boarded a plane flight that crashed with no survivors. THAT is a direct effect...you can't blame anything on A-Rod except draining some spirit. Lidle was never despirited..he always had the fire of competition and I hope he's doing well on the other side...he'll be missed...R.I.P. Cory, and I'm done...
