It should be easy to understand why PETA would hold such a position. If you think something is immoral, you would not accept the beneficial results as reason to abandon your moral code. If you compare other issues of morality to this one, it is pretty easy to understand. Most people agree that stealing is wrong, but is stealing OK if you give the car to a needy family, or sell it to fund a charity for children in Africa?
