The movie isn't deep at all. Try watching it without listening to other peoples unjustified hype. The movie is incoherant, poorly written, and it sucks.

Donnie Darko was poorly written. It features scenes that have nothing to do with the story and are put in there just because the director thought it was "funny" or "cute". The movie sucks.
