Since we're totally picking this apart for all its worth... uber-geeks as such... if you remember the first movie (SW:E1), Yoda really didn't think Obi-Wan was ready to be a Jedi, and was kinda out voted, or reluctantly went along with it. So as somewhat stated here, maybe (in an entire universe of stories that are still somewhat untold), what happened with Obi-Wan and Yoda between Episodes III and IV?
