Hogwash. "For the longest time" speaks of a mixed up kid confused by his "strange desires". Eventually, he realizes that happiness is subjective, and, when it involves consenting adults, not subject to judgment. When the lyric ends, it describes a man finding love in the embrace of his one true love, and his bodily fluids. that he "[hadn't] been there for the longest time" only illustrates how much joy he finally attained once the spray was initiated
