Equating atheism with the oppresive policies of any regime of the last century is the height of misrepresentation; I might as well say that Americans are all murders because the United States, through direct and indirect means, has been the death of millions across the planet since its creation.
The conclusion that this YTMND reaches is flawed at its core. True, the universe had to, by our understanding of the basic laws of existance, have a beginning. However, this "First Cause" does not, by definition, have to be anything resembling gods as we think of them. Life does not have to come from life, as the synthesizing of organic molecules has shown. Intellect does not have to come from intellect. The "beginning" of the universe is beyond the confines what is understood to be real; as such, using any imagining of a diety to explain it is just as flawed as using current scientific thought, as both, being concepts, are inherently limited by the simpel fact that they are a part of the universe.
Some downvoting is justified, but there are enough downvoting morons and self-absorded pricks out there to make this both justified and moderately amusing.
