this is total bullsh*t, does anybody WANT there to be movies in the next ten years??? if we keep doing this stupid crap movies will just go away, if you love something. why not dish out the however much to own it FOR REAL why does everything gotta be pirated??? and I already know some stupid response, "well if the prices weren't so high..." no thats crap, if we as a community support a new technology by buying into it the prices WILL go down, please treat yourselves to a book on economics, for me, please.
If movie's in general didn't suck so much they wouldn't be going down the tubes like they are. Hiring Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicholas Cage and other crap actors out to 4 of 5 movies is whats killing the industry. I find that most people will buy the movie if its worth it's weight...but no one is willing to pay to watch Garfield 2 and therefore people feel comfortable pirating. The quality of movies is going down...and most big budget movies (those that cost over lets say 60-70 Million to produce) end
Up sucking more than the cheaper underground movies of higher quality. And whats so bad about driving down the prices or salaries of people leading such extravagant lives? Maybe when they are making 500,000 a movie instead of several million they will have some idea how the common man lives! And HD DVD was done for when blu-ray came out just cause it holds so much more space and does everything HD DVD does...
So I'll be able to play movies using a computer not blessed by the MPAA with movie playing software by defeating the technology intended to stop people from pirating the movies. Said people however plug a HD DVD player into a video capture card on a PC and record. Commercial crooks steal with bit per bit clones copying the code along with the movie. Making the only "piracy" to stop that of people wanting to watch movies from a Linux box, the horror.
