to being "un-YTMND-like", so, I give this proposal.

yea im gonna have to vote for a delete on this one. Not only has it been clogging up the top viewed for months on end, but it sucks, it was good for a few chuckles, thats about it. Its clear that someone (maybe you, maybe someone else, who cares) is/has been/will continue, to view hack this site. Save yourself the grief and save max the effort. Do the right thing
Okay, look. People have NO incentive to donate any money to your site. Why? Because it wouldn't change a thing. As you stated, Max can delete your site whenever he wants, so nobody would feel obligated to donate money to it in order for it to be deleted - it could just be deleted at any time! If something can happen at any time at no cost, then nobody feels obligated to pay a bunch of money in the name of it happening. If people really want to give max back the $1800 your site has cost him, they'll donate

I'm going to have to sh*t a brick. By what you're saying, WE (the users who want the site deleted) should donate to YOUR site to repair for the "damage" it did (never mind the fact that those who want it off of YTMND probably don't watch it 25,000+ times daily combined, the cause of the loss), or else you will continue to "damage" YTMND by leaving the site up. But anyway, I find this to be insulting despite its apparent benefit. This is basically you giving the community a finger (perhaps not a bad finger, say a pinky? Frodo's index finger perhaps?) and saying you won't do anything about it. If max really is LOSING money off the site, then the honorable thing to do would be to just delete it, no questions asked.

1.) Why should we pay? You should be the one to pay. Awful (and unfair, and illogical) proposal
2.) I DON'T think you should delete it in the first palce. The most viewed YTMND in history, a true record shatterer and a legend. I'm not a big fan of the site, but you should keep it up, as I view it as a tremendous accomplishment of both you and YTMND.
Sphonix didn't do any damage. He made a website. Everybody else viewed it. And the point isn't for him to pay the damage. The point is that the users who are criticizing him are pussy-sh*t hypocrites. They say that all of their views will hurt the site but they aren't willing to fit the bill. Sometimes a site just gets a lot of views. It's not the creator's responsibility.

sphonix is an *ssh*le; but max is an *ssh*le too if he left the site up when it was supposedly costing him money. But I think that's a lie because any website that suddenly gets another 30,000-100,000 hits a day should have the cost of placing an ad on it rise; and it's prolly the only real reason max hasn't shut it down. It may have costed him 1880 bucks in bandwith; sure- but how much did he make off the increased traffic?

For all the idiots who think he's holding the site for ransom with a conditional deletion: He can't delete it (I'm not sure if he can change it, for that matter) because it's in the Hall of Fame. Only Max has the power to do such a thing. And this kind of gives a definition to the Hall of Fame. This site (for whatever reason, I don't think it's that original) made it in because of the fact that it garnered so many views. It didn't have to be funny or original, just epic. Epic popularity = HoF.
This is sickening... It's got to be (without even checking) over 2MB, and the six million pageviews would make a large chunk of bandwidth... Not to mention every blog in the Internet and even some big websites linking to this. For those of you thinking Sphonix should pay the money: did he really sit there refreshing six million times? If everybody donated ten cents, that could easily be paid off... you know, the people costing Max all this money.
The honest truth is, Max talked about the site costing 1880 as a retort to Tom Mabe, who was threatening to sue him over some petty bullsh*t. So Max hit him back with petty bullsh*t. Noone should have to pay for this site, not it's creator, not any of us. PLease dude, give someone elses site a chance to be number one.
