I CAME 2 YTMNEDEE TO LAFF, NOT LERN. GAWSH. It's not the fact that the ytmnd is about serious things, it's the fact that you're using a sad day in history as your way to get to the top 15. Also, for the billionth FU|CKING TIME, WE DONT NEED A YTMND TO REMEMBER THIS DAY.
June 6th, 2006
(0)
to tell you the truth, we dont really "need" any ytmnds. you are just fighting for the sake of fighting. rofl

IM ARGUING ON THE INTERNET. LOL
June 6th, 2006
(0)
not really ytmnd material, and even if it is, it's not like a ton of work went into this "tribute". I think it's nice that you made it but it definitely doesn't deserve top 15 status. It kind of just felt like a cheap way to get a high ranking ytmnd.

neither did the original site, but here we are, arguing over the internet. 06'ers are hilarious

If you're going to write so in-depth a description, why do you give no information on your audio or visual sources? I'll withhold giving you the faive you deserve until you add that.
June 6th, 2006

the original site was entertaining for its bizarre nature and simplicity. This one is sort of a lame shot at making a "popular" ytmnd.

I'm Americian, and you know what? I say we couldn't have done it without the red Army, or the Brits. Europe is a region to vast for one sole army to claim they were the reason the war was one. It was a team effort. While the Brits gave Nazi's hell in the skies over the isles, the Red Army delt a serious blow at Stalingrad, and Omaha was the second back-up punch. Needed all three Armys, not just one.

Read all the 1s and yep, you're all kinda dumb. Who cares if it scores high? No one is marveling at the dude's ability. If this site having a high score somehow offends you you're taking this entire website far too seriously.

They all were heros, those who went into battle, it took everyone to win the war. Everyone. And for those who bashed the Soviets or said they didn't do much, they had massive battles, they lost more lives than EVERYONE COMBINED in World War 2.

Bah, D-Day was nothing. By that time the war was already essentially over; Russia had already broken the back of the nazis at Stalingrad. They should've done D-Day earlier; instead, they let Russia take the brunt of the Nazi assault.

I don't think all downvoters are idiots, rather, I think the majority are just jerkoffs trying to screw over the status quo. It's like sticking it to the man by going against anything popular. .. and a pathetic way of accomplishing it at that.

Don't really see the point of giving it a five as it's got the attention it needed, it gets three for the reminder and nothing more. Meanwhile, I'll continue to laugh at the drama the downvoters cause. Welcome to YTMND cockf*gs, serious doesn't exist here.

A memorial should never be displayed where a vote decides its place. What all your comments have shown here is exactly what is wrong with the human race today. None of you understand what it's like to be in a war, neither do I. I do understand though that I should not comment on something I had no part in, I should only say thank you and hope that sometime in my life I do catch the smallest glimpse of what it means to give up everything for the well being and freedoms of others.
June 7th, 2006
(0)
I do not consider any war fought since World War 2 to be a war. I consider them shameless attempts at world policing. But with all wars I muster whatever sincerity I have for those commanded to fight, and nothing but pity and spite for those who command others to fight.

It's great to have a unique YTMND every once in a while, but I hate to see the commentors mangle history. Some stuff is correct, but there are omissions, we forget the lend lease program, Operation Torch, and the invasion of Italy and Southern France.

Shut the f*ck up ." We'd probably still be here but I'd be trolling in a cooler language.

Thank you for this, it reminded me of how...well...non-retarted SOME internet people can be. This kind of thing, in my opinion, is more needed than anything on ytmnd. All the people that said that this doesn't belong just kind of need to get used to something new maybe. But, thank you very much for this ytmnd.

some guy said anyone who 1ned this was canadian. Look it up in history, canadians did 3 times better on d-day than americans, and we got it MUCH worse on deippe. The canadians at deippe deserve more recognition than the americans. besides, youw ould have totally got owned if we didnt try it out first (and considering you could barely take those two small beaches). Even the canadians could take more beaches than you, AND WE HADE LIKE ONLY 1/10th THE GUYS! I know this bay dent your nationalism, but its true.

obviosly, abcdefghijklmnopqrst has no brain, and no cock. Those men deid to uphold the freedom and right of people. So what if it was 60 years ago, if that didnt happen 60 years ago, than germany would have won the war and there would be no france, britain, USA, or canada. You need to learn history class, and see saving private ryan. Those men went through hell to make sure that YOU could live in a free world, and you are just throwing them in the dirt. Learn your grammar too.

And, actually, this battle was fought by Norwegians, Free French, Americans, British, Canadians, Irish, Dutch, and Polish. And if I do recall from an interview, the Allies also had 3 Australian soldiers on Juno beach as artillery advisors and 2 New Zealanders on Sword.
June 23rd, 2006

BoonW: If you've seen the situation of Europe IN 1944, Germany would have lost the war even without the opening of the second front. Without a second front, that means more troops can be shipped to the Italian and Pacific fronts, and cutting off German supply routes. By May of 1942, the Germans had an oil deficit due to their war machine taking up so much gasoline that it actually slowed their offensive into the Soviet Union. In short, Germany would have lost the war.
