1) i'm kind of a ukrainian american mutt, and alot of white people consider themselves to be of a specific european ethnicity instead of just "white" 2) on a deeper level americans still consider white to be normal and without need of enthic or cultural explanation. however truth be told most of the people on the planet arent white.
3) its easier for african americans to view all of africa as thier ancesrial home because the lack of a specific lineage or history to one part of africa keeps them from knowing how much of a genetic hodgepodge they may well be from variouse parts of the african continent, the middle east and europe. that being said its easier for them to just say "my families from africa" and be done with it.
