On on the news post After Laughter (Comes Tears).
"Back in 2004 a lot of the content on the front page included links to a user's profile and at some point in time this stopped." Then bring back linking to a user's profile! I think you're treading on some big ethical problems, not just having a seperate, private ranking system, but trying to decide who counts as a user who deserves more attention than others. No matter how you slice it, it's going to be a popularity contest, especially against ytmnd regulars and outside sites that just use ytmnd.

@- Possibly the ability to allow users to view all of their assets or other people's assets. -- I would like to see this, plus have a direct link to the files for easy download.

I demand a high quality mp3 and to know exactly what synth you used, so I may someday emulate this awesome.

"I love how 95% of the people who commented aren't even regular forum visitors...." The simple answer to this is, because the forums are a vocal minority. Not just that, but forums tend to bring in a mere fraction of its associated mainpage revenue. Chances are, whatever community is brewing in that toxic pool of fecal matter is not going to recieve stellar treatment.

Sorry your machine went kaput. How much of those dev projects were for ytmnd? I hope you at least get those back and your mail server. I could care less about the forums. They're just a drag on your time and resources IMO, better spent on improving ytmnd instead.
