I'm probably the only wet blanket... but striving to become a featured member was like a finish line for me. now, still loyal to the site, all I do is view & vote. it makes me sad. poor poor non-featured members. upset because you wern�

It's still there if you customize your front page...though I doubt max is going to bother to "feature" any new people. Kinda lame to quit making sites just because you can't become featured though. The whole problem with "featured users" in the first place was people glorifying it to high-heaven, and thus becoming divisive, jealous, and spiteful.
