Until last week, I'd never seen a single episode of the original Star Trek series in my life. But now with Netflix on X-Box I've been watching the first season. It's easily the most inconsistent show I've ever seen, one episode will be an amazingly intellectual meditation on the futility of war, and the next episode will be about Kirk and a monster hitting each other over the head with rocks. Anyway here's this.

Yeah, TNG is better than any other Trek series... but thanks for letting me know this is on Watch Instantly! I went back and checked, and now Twilight Zone AND the Super Mario Brothers Super Show is on Watch Instantly! (I've already watched the Zelda show)

That's the trouble with Tribbles..... Which is actually a fictional case study of how the introduction of a foreign species to the environment can lead to the destruction of the ecosystem, such as rabbits in Australia.

What you call inconsistency, I call variety.

I've never been able to get into the original Star Trek either. I loved TNG when it was on, but when I watch episodes now, I realize how stupid they are. I've never cared for the other Star Treks shows or movies (with apologies to Money-Hat).

The new movie looks like ten kinds of awesome though. I bet the Trekkies will hate it.

It looks like ten kinds of crap. Gene Roddenberry must be rolling over in his grave. YEAH MAN PUMP UP THE ACTION AND SEX, THAT WILL MAKE PEOPLE LIKE STAR TREK, THATS WHAT STAR TREK IS ABOUT.

^Are you sh*tting me? Have you seen The Final Frontier? Star Trek may have been Rodenberry's baby, but he abused it beyond recognition. Thank god Rick Berman adopted and nurtured it back to health.

BERMAN ?! BERMAN !? Have you seen Insurrection and Nemesis. Or voyager. Or enterprise. Berman adopted it and kept it locked in the basement, beating on it when it would perform until it lost all will to live. And that bastard Brannon watched.

I haven't seen Nemesis. TNG was f*cking excellent, DS9 was decent, and Voyager... yeah, Voyager sucked. That still leaves Berman with a better batting average than Roddenberry.

Roddenberry has the original series and movies take that or leave it but you cant say that star trek 2 3 4 and 6 are somehow worse then Insurrection and Nemesis. and TOS and TNG > Berman in everyway possible.

Final Frontier is NOT something you can blame on Roddenberry. That was all William Shatner.
