Very nicely synchronized... I have XP, enjoy it, and still loved this YTMND!

i always thought that install music sounded like it came from a Phil Collins track.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Haha yes everytime I do an xp install I get "In the Air Tonight" stuck in my head.
May 2nd, 2007
(-1)
I had to 5, and I'd wager 5 more that you are A+ certified

I've kept a copy of that song in my music folder for years now heh
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
this is only on the sp2 disks? i have a sp1 disk and i dont hear this sound.... but after this it all goes downhill =P
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
The sound isn't played until the final setup screen, where you choose the machine name etc. Obviously it would also have to already have drivers for your sound device or else it's not going to play.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
r3a1h9e is correct. However, 5 anyway.

OS X FTW.
(0)
quite good.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
vista kicks xp's ass...you used the wrong bluesceen for XP. that's the windows 98 bluescreen
(0)
If he's not completed the XP install due to mentioned bluescreen, wouldn't he still get the older OS' BSOD?
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
I actually got a bluescreen during this part of the XP install before due to some bad hardware. It was indeed the standard XP blue-screen, not the 9x version.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
if you're going to let that ruin the funny, shame on you.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
what's so great about vista?
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
the installer runs on a very minimal hardware independent version of XP. Also that music only plays during the minisetup. To me, that makes the joke not work because of how inaccurate it is. well come to think of it even if that music did play and you would get the 98 bluescreen....its still wouldn't be funny
(0)
yeah pull the stick out of your *ss plz k thnx
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Yay, the 2 hour delay between my computer f*cking up and getting a fresh start.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Not funny, but pretty accurate. Also, how did anyone ever get screenshots of the installation screen?
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
I was wondering the same...
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
The BSOD sealed a 5. XP is still 1000x better than ME though.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
nice
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
5'd for my countless times of seeing these screens on my own monitor.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
It's still better then that sh*t they call Vista.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Ok the end made me 5 this.

Windows 95 ftw. I love it. I don't have to worry about viruses, because no one else uses it.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
And a fine ending too! Write in the description what OS you'd rather be using, and I'll... umm... six this? Or maybe fav it-
May 2nd, 2007

May 2nd, 2007

(0)
5 for music
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
While i don't agree that XP is crap, I think the site is funny.. The end made it five worthy.

You're 6 years late.

Long live my MS Corperate CD =D shhhhhhhhhhh
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
You will need to reboot after watching this YTMND.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Yeah, too bad no one has their sound cards in at this point. But this is the same music you'll get if you call them! It's their hold music too!
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Hey I use and like XP as well, but I still hate MS. Hear about the new versions of Office? $300+ and they don't even give you the CD. You have to aquire the "backup discs" seperately. :P
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Blue Screen, for the win?
May 2nd, 2007
(1)
so f*cking true saw the ending comming. but im a pc person because mac's suck more *ss than pc's
May 2nd, 2007

May 2nd, 2007
(0)
its funny, but I've never had windows xp freeze up my machine when I wasn't playing some game that caused it
(0)
The sync was perfect. And everything written in this YTMND about XP rings true as far as my goofy *ss is concerned.
May 2nd, 2007
(-1)
Anti-Microsoft jokes are about as funny as a the n*gg*r-white IQ ratio.

I believe it's still 1:1.

May 2nd, 2007

Definitely True
May 2nd, 2007

I'm willing to bet that the longest either of you have used a Mac was during a 40 minute class in Junior High Running OS 9. The Mac OS X operating system takes about a week to fully get used to if you've been using Windows for a prolonged time. I hated my Mac for a week, but then after some exposure you realize both Windows and OS X have their advantages.
May 2nd, 2007
(2)
Nope, I used a Mac in a store and wanted to cry.
(0)
CreepPipe, thats very true. Its fun running OS X on my VMWare Virtual Machine under XP Pro
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
you can always install windows on the intel macs :P
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
I love Windows, but this is hilarious + original (kinda) = 4
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Loved the ending, but that's a Windows 98 error screen, replace it with a STOP error.
May 2nd, 2007
(2)
This is pretty funny. You really over exaggerate, though.
(0)
Nice buildup, a funny twist, spot-on sync, AND a bluescreen punchline? You my friend earned yourself a FAV'ing.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
I was gonna rate this 3 stars, but the end of it wins.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
extremely boring, nearly unwatchable
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
it was a little long, and it the end not very funny. the funniest part was closing the window and not having to look at it anymore. i don't see the point in this ytmnd. please remove it and save max's bandwidth. YOU COULD BE A VITAL PART IN SAVING YTMND!f
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
yeah, that's why I'm not getting vista until I get compatibility issues with XP. OH WOW YOU CAN SEE THROUGH WINDOWS! AMAZING.
(0)
And what a ride it is!!!
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
5'd for fitting ending. Windows 2000 mo better (and don't have to activate install)
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
lol
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
There is no music during the actual installation of Windows XP. The music on this ytmnd plays after the installation is done and it wants you to configure the OS. But, what kind of ytmnd has no sound?
(0)
5'd for the sound
May 2nd, 2007

Computers are galdang'd hard to do.

1 for Microsoft bashing. Stfu Macintosh communist untermensch.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Yes! XP doesn't have better handling of DLL files or an entirely redesigned API. Nope, it's just Windows 95 with a UI added on. Idiot.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
It's funny, because you could have done this site with Vista and I would have given it a 5.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Who's the composer of the music? Does anyone know? Sounds sort of Brian Eno-ish...
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Pretty amusing. 5'd for the great captions. I'd still rather use XP then Vista anyday.

Only the more experienced users won't see those issues very often in Windows XP. However, I see these problems all the time at work. Most people just don't know what they're doing when they sit down in front of a PC. The music is just called "title.wma" and can be found on any copy of Windows XP in C:_Windows_System32_oobe_images_title.wma. The title is "Windows Welcome Music" and the artist is Microsoft. :P
May 2nd, 2007

Awesome. Absolutely great. Now do Linux!
May 2nd, 2007

I expected the blue screen. Who didn't?

(0)
It's amazing, I always hear how terrible Windows is yet it runs perfectly fine on my computer D:... what the hell am I doing wrong?!
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
If your windows XP crashes, there's very likly a good reason for it, mainly linked to your possible costant stream of p2p priated programs or your mass ammount of porn folder.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
i seriously lolled
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
1'd for Anti-Windows. ALL HAIL BILL GATES!!!
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
Win. I just had to do an XP install at work today, so that just compounded the awesome of this YTMND. 5'd.
May 2nd, 2007
(0)
took to long + we all know windows is unstable
May 3rd, 2007
(0)
Hey, had to give people time to read the text. If it went by too quickly, I'd have dozens of people crying about it flipping to the next screen before they were done reading.
May 7th, 2007
(0)
BSOD at the end FTW, also nice audio work.
May 15th, 2007

May 15th, 2007
