Uhhh, the proper translation is Aerith, but its meant to be pronounced Aries, so in ff7 they wrote it Aeris because there is no speech and they wanted you to say it right. In KH they speak there words so notice they say aeris but its spelt aerith.

It translates both ways. It like Zebes/ Zebeth in Metroid. The "s" and "th" are pronounced the same way.

Aeris sounds much more astheticly pleasing than aerith. All people care in video games these days are accuraces, whether they're graphics-related or having to do with translation. btw, her name is pronounced "airis" and she owns f*gboymcnutsack with a staff. lmao.

The japanese dont use the "th" sound and was meant to sound like an s anyway. So really its just spelling

Fails for third panel, Aeris sounds like a buff angry evil god of war(Though his name's spelled Ares).

in japanese, th is prounced as a s, so aeris while spelled wrong, is spelled the way it's pronounced.

Yes I believe Aerith is the way it was meant to be spelled. but it is supposed to be pronounced Aeris, because that's how it is pronounced in japanese. I used to talk this asian kid and talk about FF7 with him, he would constantly pronounce "Sephiroth" as "Sephiros" So I guess that means in English if you pronounce Sephiroth the way it is spelled, you may as well pronounce Aerith the way it is spelled.
