To be a smart guy about this, water does not conduct electricity, as most people tend to think. The oils in people's skin does. The kid would have had to immerse himself in the tub for about a minute or two prior to getting the toaster ready, etc. for him

Hilarious. However, the above commentor is COMPLETELY WRONG about the water being a bad conductor. Bathwater, unless you're retarded enough to distill it, is going to have loads of metal ions in it. It conducts BRILLIANTLY.

In fact, it's ridiculously difficult to electrocute yourself with an appliance in a bathtub - they put out very little power, have installed breakers in them, as do buildings. Not to mention that the bathtub is probably grounded.

Distilled water does not conduct electricity, but the tapwater you drink and put in your bathtub has salts and metals in it that make it a fine conductor.
