This was a surprise to me because the student movement against this was fairly organized; we thought that the turnout of students who care might outweigh the population of the less-motivated closed-minded. Sigh.

I live in Austin and I voted against. :( I'm so sad. All the big cities like Austin and Dallas and Houston voted primarily against, but there are too many hicks in the smaller towns and they really beat us. *goes to cry*

Also...the news tonight said that 90% of the students at the UT campus voted against the amendment. Go UT!
